At Rill Estate we offer a stunning space for Yoga, Pilates, Dance, Meditation and more. With a newly converted glass paneled barn overlooking the countryside, it provides a wonderful space to escape from the everyday.

The tranquil setting and the exclusivity we offer, makes Rill and ideal venue for a more contemplative gathering. And with 80 acres of organic farmland and ancient woodland to enjoy, there is much to recommend Rill as a place for such work.

The Round Hall

Completed in July 2012 The Round Hall is a beautiful new barn conversion measuring 165 square metres round.

It has a a wondeful outlook onto the surrounding land as well as natural oak flooring and under-floor heating.

The room has been purpose built for more contemplative groups and is for barefoot use only.

The Long Hall

A 100 square metre hall (measuring 19m x 5.2m).

With a dramatic vaulted roof and an intricate lighting system you can create whatever mood you require.

It has a wonderful natural oak floor and under-floor heating so it is perfect for Yoga & Pilates work.

This hall is ideal for the use of smaller groups or for overspill space for larger gatherings.

Accommodation

There are 19 bedrooms available from single though to small dormitory (up to 5 guests).

17 of these rooms are reached via the Reception area and part of the main building, two with disabled access. These rooms are the old dairy's milking stations and each room is simply designed with original features and under floor heating.

These rooms open out onto a lawned courtyard with plenty of seating to enjoy the stunning views down the Dart valley.

There are two further ensuite bedrooms at the rear of the venue.

Further rooms may be available on request in the main house enabling us to accommodate up to 50 guests.

For retreat groups we can offer the use of our Hot Tub at an additional cost based on length of stay.

Food & Drink

All the catering is provided by Rill using local produce and suppliers wherever possible.

We can cater to any request, but a typical day would consist of a freshly prepared contintental breakfast with one hot dish, a soup & salads lunch and a two course hearty supper.

There are teas, coffee & infusions provided on a self-serve basis throughout the day, as well as fruit.

We primarily provide vegetarian food for our groups but are happy to provide a meat or fish option if requested.

We can cater for special dietary requests, or fully organic meal plans but there may be a small supplementary charge for this.

Our focus is on healthy, energy-giving, well balanced food, to match your course.

Our Philosophy

We want to keep Rill as unspoiled as possible. The buildings sit within 80 acres of land nestling on a hill overlooking the Dart valley down towards Totnes. Half of the land is farmed by our highly successful neighbour, Riverford Organics, and is maintained to the highest ethical standards. You will see various crops growing and livestock grazing in the fields depending on the time of year.

The other 40 acres are given over to woodland and are preserved for wildlife, so expect to see some interesting flora & fauna. There are several walkways around the woods and fields for guests to enjoy.

We aim to be as sustainable as possible: we source as much food as possible locally; recycling and composting are part of everyday life and the water is supplied from the Estate's own well.

Pricing

We operate a 24 hour delegate rate per head to include breakfast, lunch & dinner, unlimited teas, coffee & infusions, plus fresh fruit throughout your stay.

Rates are determined by the number of guests, the type of bedrooms used and the length of stay, consequently all rates provided are bespoke.

We generally require a minimum number of 18 guests staying at Rill. Non residential rates are available alongside residential groups.
